Looking back on Hawke's Bay first Planting Action Day

CarbonInvoice

January 10, 2025

On a crisp morning at Te Awanga Downs, over 35 members of the CarbonInvoice community gathered to plant more than 700 native seedlings, marking another successful Planting Action Day in Hawke’s Bay.

Respected local brands, including Tracta, Property Brokers, Hawke’s Bay Tech, Halcyon Project Management, and Inside Marketing, took a break from their screens and rolled up their sleeves to make a meaningful, lasting impact on their local environment.

This planting initiative is part of a broader effort to restore farmland to native bushland, helping sequester carbon and boost local biodiversity. The site, located at Outfoxed, borders the Cape Kidnappers Kiwi Sanctuary. With kiwi populations increasingly moving beyond the sanctuary, this area is becoming a vital extension of their habitat.

With this success, Hawke’s Bay concludes CarbonInvoice’s Planting Action Days for 2024. However, our work doesn’t stop here. The community continues to fund native tree planting year-round, and we’re already planning to return in 2025 to make an even bigger impact—together.

We’ve been blown away by the response to Planting Action Days. Thank you to the hundreds who participated! We’re proud of you for putting your energy into getting  seedlings into the ground across Aotearoa.  We made Planting Action Days for our customers, friends and businesses who wanted to do take action. Real carbon measurement, real native seedlings, real people making a positive difference. But Planting Actions Days are not ours. They belong to our community. Everyone is welcome to join the fun… and we hope you will too.
